Art Commissions
Some pieces cannot be found on a shelf. They have to be made, from the inside out, for one person, one story or one space.
A commission is not simply a painting made to order. It is a personal, original piece of art made specifically for you.
Who this is for
There are many reasons to want to commission a piece of art. A few of the ones I hear most often are:
You miss someone who is no longer physically with you
Someone important to you has crossed over, and you want a beautiful reminder that even though their physical presence is gone, the connection is still very much alive. A painting can hold that connection like a warm daily hug, a softer alternative to a photograph, which can sometimes carry more of the heavy grief emotions than you're ready for. The piece can draw from specific memories, places, or an imagined dreamscape of the connection across dimensions. My series Life in Layers explores this theme in different ways, and any piece can be made in the size your space calls for.
Your want your home to actively support your wellbeing
You want your space to support the most authentic expression of you or your family. A personal piece of art that matches your highest frequency in color and symbols will quietly help you feel more at peace, uplifted, and empowered every day.
…or you just have a very specific idea for a unique piece of art
You simply haven't found the right piece for your space yet, and you'd like something original, not hanging in every other living room. Positive, harmonious, and peaceful are words that could describe what you're looking for.
The process of a commission
Your idea, and the story or feeling you want the painting to carry, is at the center of the conversation. I'll guide you through size, style, and color, so the piece is right for your space.
If any of my existing artworks have elements close to what you're imagining, they're a good starting point for the conversation. Work by other artists can be useful for inspiration too, though I never copy what someone else has created. Photographs, colors, magazine clippings, anything visual can help; I'll ask what to draw from each reference so the direction stays clear.
Once we've gathered references and settled on a description of the piece, I create a digital sketch from everything we've discussed and bring it back to you for feedback. Once you've approved it, the painting itself begins.
Costs & timeframe
Every commission is priced individually, based on materials and size. I work from a cost per square inch as a starting point, so the price grows honestly with the piece rather than being pulled from thin air.
Because commissioned work is so personal, it's priced higher than an original, non-commissioned piece. The early phase of clarifying and shaping the idea together is a real part of the creative process, so I ask for 50% of the full price upfront.
Timelines vary depending on size and complexity. I'll always be upfront with you about what to expect before we begin, and keep you updated as the work moves along.

If something here is speaking to you, reach out and tell me what you're imagining, even if it's still half-formed. Send me an email at hello@loveli.studio with a little about the story behind the piece, and we'll find our way from there together.
